Earlier this year, fellow OMFGstyle contributors Vanessa Boer and Cara Castiglione and I founded our very own craft circle and named it the G-CLIC, which stands for —you guessed it—”the Girls are Crafty Like Ice is Cold.” Each month, one of us hosts a craft night in our home. The way it works is this: the hostess is responsible for planning the craft, supplying the wares, serving dinner (generally snacky finger-foods), and invites whomever she likes in addition to the other G-CLIC members; the guests bring libations and a willingness to craft the night away. It’s an amazing way to meet new people, learn how to make new things, and you always go home with something cool. Try it!
In the past we have done embroidery, faux Hermes keychains, felt food, matchbook notebooks, and silhouettes framed in custom-decorated frames.
October was Vanessa’s month to host the G-CLIC, and since she hosted the day after her fantastic DIY Paper Clock post for this magazine, under her patient tutelage we made paper clocks! Check out our paper clock gallery below to see all the different shape and style options we came up with and stayed tuned for more DIY manuals from master-crafter Vanessa Boer and the rest of the G-CLIC team.
