So… are you set to jet on a moment’s notice? You know, wheels up?!
I should clarify….. packing like a jet setter could of course could mean a jaunt to Cap d’Antibes or it could be catching a Amtrak Train to visit a best friend. The idea is that no matter what the destination, at a moments notice you are game and looking fabulous the whole time.
Luggage.
I know we are all recessionista chic at the moment, but investing in good luggage is just that, an investment. Your luggage helps airline employees figure out who is “upgrade worthy” and even though it can be beaucoup dollars it really lasts forever and throughout the years you can add pieces (Can’t do the louie just yet? How about Longchamp or Mizrahi’s darling offerings?).
Carry on.
Trust your fellow jet set sista….. DO NOT CHECK!!! Please always carry on. That way you are in control of your own destiny. Believe me you don’t want to be stuck in Mykonos without your bathing suit–been there, done that!
I always carry on my fabulous (Louie) rolly and a big duffle bag. Ladies note, the airlines are getting very strict about your handbag counting as a carry on – AS IF!? Try that attitude with them and its not pretty; with a larger duffle you can just place your bag within a bag. Plus the airlines are also charging (the price of 3 martinis) to check bags.
What to pack? Rules of thumb.
Black IS your best friend! It is important to pack black and neutrals it is all about mix and matching.
Roll with it…. try rolling your clothes it truly creates more space and eliminates wrinkling.
Best friend Black, meet Best friend Accessories; count on your jewelry, sunglasses and lipstick to give a fresh looks to basics.
