It’s fall and cider has begun to make an appearance at the farmers’ market.  Try it shaken with ice in (The Really Easy) Apple Cider Martini (just cider plus vodka) and you’ll never go back to heating it with mulling spices again.

This is one of those cocktails the is oh-so easy to make, yet still manages to make quite the impression on your guests (it’s really that good–even better than the sum of its parts).

1 part vodka

1 part apple cider

1 apple slice for garnish

Shake the vodka and cider with ice in a martini shaker, serve in a martini glass with a slice of apple as garnish.

Optional: for a little tartness, add a squeeze of fresh lemon juice.
