I love magazines. Everything about them. Except that there doesn’t really seem to be a perfect magazine–a magazine for me.
OMFG is the result of many whiskey-and-PBR-fueled happy hour meetings between me and my BFF, Diana. We would meet after work, grab a drink, complain about our jobs, and talk about those things you talk about with your friend–where to get the best jeans, what bag is really worth spending an entire tax return on, hair, relationships, awful bosses, music, dream vacations, the fact that there’s no perfect magazine out there… And then came this: the dream of starting our own blog for us, our friends, and people like us who aren’t finding lifestyle content they actually connect to.
Since then, we’ve both found much happier careers, me as a freelancer and Diana at a kick-ass company where David LaChapelle prints hang over her desk. All along, we saw OMFG as an escape from the doldrums of our day jobs, but now that we’re both in a much better/happier place career-wise, we realize we can do this in a much more relaxed, organic way… and hopefully bring you a better blog than two bummed-out and bitter gals in their late 20s in New York could have. Don’t get me wrong, we’re still bitter, but maybe it’s more of a bittersweet…
Anyway, OMFG’s mission is to provide stylish, creative, real modern women with beauty, style, and lifestyle features that are searchable, relevant, and budget-conscious; a place for the kind of advice and support you’d get from a friend… not a giant conglomerate trying to sell you something.
And on that note, we hope that each visit to our site is like a relaxed after-hours cocktail with your best friends…
So, welcome to our blog. Cheers.
